DevOps →All You Need to Know.
Hey there! Welcome to the Symphony DevOps Series. This series is part of the Dev Symphony Newsletter where we aim to provide documentation and content relevant to the technology industry.
I have spent the last 2 months teaching and learning the methods and the finer details of the DevOps field. Having completed the teaching classes and having done a complete run-through of the DevOps processes I have seen it fit to publish a series of articles that will aid you in also getting a solid base in this field.
This series will entail a mix of theory and practical but the main focus is the practical bit. We will explore the following:-
Series 1
- What is DevOps?
- Version Control and
Continuous Integration.
Series 2
- Infrastructure as Code & Configuration Management
- Container Technologies.
- Container Orchestration with K8s.
Series 3
- Advanced Continuous Deployment.
- Monitoring & Logging.
Series 4
- Security and Compliance in DevOps (DevSecOps).
- System Architectures (Monolithic, Microservices, SOA).
Requirements
- Knowledge of how to use the terminal/console.
- A Linux Server, preferably a Ubuntu instance (minimum specs 4VCPU, 4GB RAM, 80GB DISK LOCAL).
- VSCode for purposes of writing code where necessary.

The sole purpose of this series is to allow you to put into practice the DevOps concepts from scratch.
